Editorial Review:

Product Description:
Evil guardians of Makuta The Manas, fearsome giant crabs, guard Makuta's lair and can only be defeated by Toa who have collected enough masks of power. Pit your strength against these mighty beasts, with the victor disabling his opponent. Set includes two remote-control Manas and two multi-channel handsets.

Editorial Review:
According to the Legends of the Bionicle, Manas are the most powerful guardians of Makuta. They resemble huge crabs, and their sheer strength and vicious tempers are legendary. Just where on Mata Nui they can be found remains a mystery, but it is believed they protect the lair of Makuta. These robotic crustaceans box their opponents with speedy jabs, but we found them a bit of a challenge to put together. We could not get them to move forward or backward, only to spin, and one of our Manas could only jab with one arm. The instructions, as with all LEGO toys, are illustrated, and, for once, we wouldn't have minded more explanation or a troubleshooting guide. Requires 12 AA batteries, not included. --M. Sullivan

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - The Manas
These things have little speed but I have to give them this, they are the only ones that took me forever to build. They take 12 AA batteries. I would have been done sooner but I lost pieces then I had to find them. Anyway these bad boys were the slaves of Makuta. The Toa had to combine themselves, each a different Toa Kaita, just to find out that they could stay Toa and attack the remote system. Now the Manas are free Rahi eversince the Toa beat The Makuta. Or did they? WEll find out for yourselves. ... Read More

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great Looking, great fun, but motor is bad
This is an amazing toy. My 8 year old loves it, but previous reviewers are correct that one of the wheels is significantly weaker than the other, making it slow and difficult to move in a straight line (especially backwards). It looks great, and it is fun to make the two crabs fight. The toy is still really cool, and worth the money, but they should fix the problem with the wheel.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - Dayne's recemendation of the Manas
The manas is ok to play with but it totaly drains the batteries if u leave them in the motor it doesen't have much power and is also very slow but is extreamly good for educational benifits.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Bionicles: Manas - a real review by a real kid...
You've gotta get the BIONICLES MANAS! Because the manas are the ultimate in cool! They are really awesome. They're remote controlled and there are two of them in the box. It was easy to follow the instructions to put them together; the instructions made sense. They must be the neatest toy I've ever had! I like to make them chase after my cat Cybille in the hall of my house. The BIONICLES MANAS are way way cool!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Guardians of Makuta
The Manas are easily the most expensive Rahi. ..., it's unlikely that kids will be able to afford these. But parents can!

The Manas are both crab-like creatures of Mata Nui. Building them isn't that hard (took me about 45 mins. per Manas) but little kids may need help from their parents. By building the different "legs," you can then attach them to either side of the control box and continue building. When done it is quite pleasant. The remote controls are easy to use, but the book doesn't ... Read More
