It broke record after record, / including top-speed, altitude, and time-to-climb. On September 11, 1972, The / F-4J shot down a MiG-21 near Hanoi, in the Vietnam War. That was the only time / a MiG was downed by a U.S. Marine aircraft. The F-4J remained with the Marines / until 1991.
